Verbrugge Terminals B.V. performs its activities as leading, specialised Logistic Service Provider in such a way that the health and safety of its employees, contractors, customers and visitors are safeguarded, business assets are used correctly and economically, goods and the environment are protected and the customer can be sure of excellent quality at competitive conditions. This is made possible by our workmanship and constant aim to avoid damage, injury and loss. 

Verbrugge Terminals B.V. therefore sees it as its responsibility to:

  • Ensure that the risks involved with its logistic activities are known to each employee and manager and reduced to a minimum by working together in unison;
  • Continuously strive for zero safety incidents and a limitation of damage to equipment, tools and goods;
  • Ensure that employees and their managers are technically skilled so that they can comply with the requirements regarding health, safety, quality and the environment with confidence and dedication;
  • Constantly work on the implementation of improvements in the area of health, safety and the environment and the care for goods put under its care;
  • Ensure that the applicable legislation and regulations and all rules and quality standards voluntarily agreed to by us, such as NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2008/GMP for Corrugated & Solid Board/OSHAS-18001 are complied with;
  • Meet the expectations of our customers, in order to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen relationships.

The employees of Verbrugge Terminals B.V.:

  • Are aware of the background, objectives and plans with regard to health, safety and the environment, as well as the quality of the services that the company provides;
  • Actively participate in work meetings, training courses, briefings and debriefings to discuss health, safety, environmental and quality issues with each other, as well as plans to implement improvements;
  • Call each other to account and take care of each other if any safety or damage risks occur or their health or the quality of the work is otherwise in jeopardy;
  • Identify dangerous situations, (near) accidents and behaviour, reporting them to the management, so that they can be corrected immediately;
  • Are familiar with the regulations/procedures in the area of health, safety, the environment and quality and the possible consequences for them if they do not abide by them. 

The managers of Verbrugge Terminals B.V.:

  • Are aware of the background, objectives and plans with regard to health, safety and the environment, as well as the quality of the services that the company provides;
  • Lead by example and take responsibility for the health and safety of all employees (including contractors) and for the constant improvement of the services provided and the environmental performance;
  • Constantly analyse the risks of the various activities and projects and provide the employees with the information available before they start to work;
  • Ensure, by means of direct supervision (object managers) and/or observation rounds, that the work is done in accordance with the agreements made and the applicable legislation and regulations;
  • Chair the work meetings in which time is dedicated to the shortcomings observed, new projects, changes to the work and the site as a result of which new (high-risk) situations may occur.
