Verbrugge interrupts its operations for safety!

To emphasize the importance of safety, security and health in the workplace, Verbrugge International is organizing the Verbrugge Safety Day for its employees on September 29, 2023. On this day, various activities in the form of presentations, workshops and demonstrations will be organized to promote general safety awareness among employees. Verbrugge Terminals will interrupt its operational activities on this day between 11:00 and 20:00.

Philippe Brackman, Head of Operations: "At Verbrugge, health and safety always comes first! We expect our employees to pay attention to their own safety, the safety of their colleagues and the safety of everyone on our sites. Every day we work hard to reach our goal of zero accidents, "The Road to Zero." At the end of the day, everyone should be able to go home safely.

Go home safely together! We want to promote the general safety awareness of our employees by organizing various fun and educational activities. We are proud to say that external parties such as Customs, Police, Safety Region Zeeland and various suppliers have offered to participate in this Safety Day by providing activities. These include workshops and demonstrations on fire-safe living, hazardous materials, the use of various personal protective equipment and CPR using an AED. Employees can even use virtual reality to recognize various hazards and exit one of our cranes through an emergency descent.

In addition to safety, security is also an important issue. Due to tightened security in the ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam, we unfortunately have to take increased crime in our ports more and more into account. During the Safety Day, presentations will therefore be given on port crime; how to recognize it and what to do if you are recruited."

The Verbrugge Safety Day is being organized this edition only for Verbrugge employees. The intention is to include it in our annual Safety Week, which will involve all Verbrugge stakeholders.
